Matt Murdock had not been in the best of moods lately.

He had thought putting Kingpin, the emperor of New York's underworld, behind bars would improve the terrible situation in Hell's Kitchen. Instead, not only had Hell's Kitchen failed to improve, but the rest of New York had begun descending into chaos as well.

If the assassin Kraft had not suddenly appeared and slaughtered enough of those lawless gangsters to terrify the rest, New York would have been in even greater turmoil.

Still, Matt did not approve of Kraft's methods.

Although Daredevil was ruthless with gangsters, routinely breaking bones and tearing ligaments, Matt drew the line at taking lives. As a lawyer, he had always upheld the principle that no individual had the right to decide whether another person lived or died.

Yet Kraft had barely gone quiet for a few days before another killing machine emerged on the Irish Mob's side. The man named Frank used different weapons from Kraft, but he was every bit as ruthless.

Matt had fought Frank several times as Daredevil, but because he could not act as recklessly as Frank, he held back during their fights and never managed to stop Frank's killing sprees.

Today had been no different. After killing his target, Frank had thrown a flashbang at Matt, leaving his ears ringing, then walked away. Matt had been powerless to stop him.

"Whew..."

Coming out of the bathroom, Matt let out a long breath, releasing a little of his pent-up frustration.

Then he crossed the living room and headed toward the kitchen.

Although Matt was blind, he knew the layout of his home by heart and never bumped into anything.

As he passed the living room sofa, Matt suddenly snapped the towel in his hand at the intruder sitting there.
