The atmosphere in the Parker household grew awkward for a moment.

Aunt May rolled her eyes at Peter Parker helplessly, then scolded him. "What are you standing there for? Hurry up and pick up the gift Kraft gave you! Getting this scared over something a little kid gave you-aren't you something!"

"It was just a reflex! Aunt May, you know what Kraft's done to me!"

Peter Parker protested indignantly, then stepped forward and picked the box up off the floor.

Once he had the box, Peter intended to take it back to his room and see what was inside. He didn't dare open it in front of Aunt May. If that little brat Kraft had put some prank gadget in there, he'd be in trouble. It probably wouldn't hurt anyone else, but he would definitely make a complete fool of himself in front of Aunt May.

"Wait, Peter."

Aunt May suddenly stopped him. She took two steps forward, grabbed his arm, and pulled up his sleeve, revealing the bruises covering it.

"What happened to you?"

"Oh, nothing..." Peter hastily pulled his sleeve down to cover his arm and offered a quick excuse. "I just took a fall earlier. I'll go put some ointment on it in my room."

With that, he hurried back to his room with the box in his arms.

Aunt May watched him go with concern. Those bruises clearly hadn't come from a fall, but she didn't press him. She decided to discuss it with Uncle Ben once he came home.

Peter Parker ran back to his room, locked the door, and slowly let out a weary breath.

After collecting himself, Peter Parker carefully opened the box Kraft had given him.
