Du Busi patiently answered Long Yun's questions. By the end of the meal, Long Yun had learned quite a lot, gained a preliminary understanding of martial souls, and learned how to cultivate.
"Master, let me remove the poison from your body first!" Du Busi noticed the wound on Long Yun's hand, stopped eating, and spoke seriously.
"Oh?" Long Yun looked at the somewhat purplish wound on his arm and frowned. His heart tightened. He had been so focused on eating that he had forgotten about the wound the Man Faced Demon Spider's Spider Leg had left on him. A wound caused by a Man Faced Demon Spider was no simple matter. It carried deadly poison, and not just any ordinary poison. In terms of toxicity alone, few Soul Beasts could compare to it. If it was not treated in time, it would most likely prove fatal.
"Old Poison, can you cure this poison?" Long Yun suddenly asked fearfully, turning his gaze toward Du Busi.
"Haha, Young Master, have you forgotten my name? Poison is my surname. Although I cannot be considered especially proficient with poisons, I do understand them to some extent. Besides, my martial soul has a poison attribute and can absorb all poisons," Du Busi said with a laugh.
"That's great! Old Poison, help me detoxify it first!" Long Yun said urgently. He could already feel dizziness creeping over him. The poison might have begun taking effect, so it had to be removed as soon as possible.
"Mm." Du Busi nodded. Then, green Soul Power emerged from his hand. This Soul Power seemed poisonous by nature. The instant it appeared, a faint fishy stench filled the air. Just looking at it sent chills through one's heart and made the hairs stand on end. Even though Long Yun knew Du Busi's Soul Power meant him no harm, he still felt a little unnerved.
Long Yun, why are you still so timid? Be brave, will you? Long Yun scolded himself inwardly. He was actually scared just by looking at this. His courage was practically nonexistent. Long Yun forced himself to be bolder, and as he watched Du Busi's Soul Power, the fear in his heart gradually lessened.
Du Busi knew that Long Yun was somewhat afraid. Many people who saw his Soul Power for the first time felt fear, and since his Soul Power itself carried certain toxins, that fear was only natural. But when he saw Long Yun's gaze gradually return to normal, he felt rather gratified. Only those who could overcome fear would be able to go farther in the future.
Du Busi controlled his Soul Power and slowly guided it toward Long Yun's arm. The moment the green Soul Power touched his arm, Long Yun's body trembled. A faint pain came from his hand, accompanied by an itchy sensation. Then he sensed the green Soul Power erupt with a tremendous suction force, drawing something out of his body. Long Yun did not need to think to know that it was absorbing the remaining Man Faced Demon Spider poison within him.
As the poison was expelled, Long Yun felt a great deal of coolness spread through his arm, as though a heavy burden had been lifted. His whole body became much more energetic.
The process was very brief. In less than a few breaths, Du Busi withdrew his Soul Power, indicating that the poison within Long Yun had been completely absorbed. Once it was gone, the purple coloring on Long Yun's arm faded, returning to its normal color.
"Young Master, how do you feel?" Du Busi asked with a smile.
Long Yun looked at his arm and clenched his fist hard. He felt power coursing through it, and the sensation was truly wonderful. Smiling, he said, "I feel great. The poison should have been completely absorbed. Old Poison, you really are amazing!"
Du Busi's ability to absorb poison was undeniably formidable. He could effortlessly absorb even the poison of a Man Faced Demon Spider. Although the poison's owner had been a Man Faced Demon Spider less than two thousand years old, its venom was still far from weak. This showed just how powerful Du Busi's ability was. With this ability, many poison-attribute Soul Masters were naturally countered by him. If he could absorb their poison, how were they supposed to fight? Wasn't that basically cheating?
"Haha, as long as Young Master is all right. Then I'll hide myself for now and won't disturb your training," Du Busi said.
"Okay." Long Yun nodded. Du Busi hiding himself suited his wishes as well. If Du Busi stayed by his side the whole time, there would be no point to his training. It was better to rely on himself.
After receiving Long Yun's answer, Du Busi vanished from where he stood in a flash. "A Titled Douluo really comes and goes without a trace," Long Yun remarked with a hint of emotion as he watched Du Busi disappear as though he had teleported. There was also a trace of envy in his heart. When would he be able to reach such a level?
His desire for powerful strength grew ever stronger.
After reflecting for a while, Long Yun composed himself and stopped thinking about such random matters. After tidying up a little, he set up a tent by himself. It was his first time pitching one, and it took him quite a while to put together a simple tent. Looking at the somewhat misshapen tent, Long Yun revealed a satisfied smile. "Pitching a tent isn't that hard after all." With that, he entered the tent.
After entering, he did not go straight to sleep. Instead, he eagerly followed the method Du Busi had taught him and attempted to cultivate. People were always curious about new things, and Long Yun was no exception. Cultivation was something entirely new to him, so he was filled with enthusiasm for it. Like a child who had found an interesting new toy, he could not get enough of it, to the point that he even forgot to sleep.
The dazzling sun had long since set beyond the mountains, while a moon as white as jade hung high in the sky. Night in the Soul Hunting Forest seemed somewhat quiet. Only the occasional chirp of cicadas or cry of birds broke the silence, making the place seem especially peaceful. But in a Soul Beast Forest, one must never be deceived by such a quiet and tranquil environment. Danger lurked everywhere here, and lives were lost at every moment.
However, Long Yun seemed to have good luck. He spent a very peaceful night. Throughout the night, he was immersed in the pleasure of cultivation. Yes, pleasure. As he cultivated, he felt every pore on his body open up, like someone who had held their breath for a long time greedily inhaling air. Every pore on his body frantically absorbed the Heaven and Earth Soul Power in the air.
As he absorbed this Soul Power, he felt incomparably comfortable, as though bathed in a spring breeze. The sensation was truly an unprecedented delight!
Once he experienced that feeling, he found it difficult to stop. He remained in that state of cultivation until the next morning, when he reluctantly ended his cultivation and walked out of the tent.
"Ah!"
"That feels amazing!" The moment Long Yun stepped outside, he stretched lazily. As he did, the bones throughout his body crackled, bringing him immense comfort. He could not help crying out.
"So this is cultivation? It really feels wonderful!" Long Yun examined his physical condition. A night of cultivation had not made him tired at all. Instead, he felt exceptionally refreshed. His senses seemed to have become sharper, his entire body was filled with strength, and the Soul Power within him had fully recovered. It was even more abundant than before. He knew that cultivation had increased the Soul Power within his body somewhat.
"Looks like I should cultivate more in the future. This feels incredible," Long Yun muttered to himself. After experiencing the benefits of cultivation, he was already eager to sit down and cultivate again. However, he restrained that impulse. Although cultivation felt wonderful, he could not just sit there cultivating forever. After too long, it would become boring. It was better to go out and train!
After packing away the tent and placing it in his newly acquired Storage Soul Tool, Long Yun ate a simple breakfast and began his day's training journey.
"Soul Beasts, here I come!"
