Kaido, transformed into an Azure Dragon, was absurdly massive. When the hundred-meter-long dragon stretched across the sky, anyone who witnessed it would likely think they had stumbled into an age of myth.
Sirius, clinging to his back, was like a speck of dust.
Kaido himself couldn't fly; dragons moved by creating Flame Clouds and gripping them to soar.
So now Sirius was wrapped in a cloud, probably to keep him from falling—Kaido was surprisingly thoughtful.
He curiously reached out to touch these fiery red clouds.
The clouds had substance; Sirius could even feel their resilience in his hands, a pleasant texture.
He knew these clouds carried immense power—in the original story, Kaido used them to literally lift Onigashima.
Mythical Zoans—none of them were weak.
But his own ability wasn't bad either.
Just as he was thinking, a voice like thunder came from ahead, "Kid, I don't know your name yet."
"Sirius!"
Sirius answered cheerfully, "My name is Sirius! I'm six years old, what about you, old man?"
"Sirius, not a bad name."
Kaido said, "Only six, two years younger than my daughter!"
"You have a daughter, old man?"
Yamato was eight this year?
Sirius pondered. That meant the timeline was eighteen years before the Straw Hat set sail?
And Kaido's stomach had no scar yet, so the decisive battle with Kozuki Oden hadn't begun. But it should be soon—he'd probably get to see Oden's final act.
"You'll meet her later. Maybe you can become her best rival!"
Rival?
Was that fitting for a tiger dad like Kaido?
Sirius laughed, "Old man, you still haven't told me your name."
"Then remember this, kid! My name is Kaido! I'm your captain!"
Kaido boomed, "Oh, and speaking of which, what's your ability? I know of one Mythical Zoan in wolf form, but it's clearly not like yours."
That must be Yamato's future ability, right?
Inu Inu no Mi, Model: Okuchi no Okami.
Sirius thought for a moment, then said in a clear voice, "What's a Mythical Zoan?"
A six-year-old shouldn't know too much. Playing dumb was the right call, wasn't it?
"Uogghhahaha, right, I must be losing my mind,"
Kaido didn't mind, laughing loudly, "What would a little brat know!"
"Just know that you're a Mythical Zoan, that's enough!!"
Kaido laughed, then suddenly sped up, "Let's go, back to Wano! Something interesting is about to happen! I'm not missing it!"
Sirius actually knew what his ability was.
Though he'd never seen a Devil Fruit encyclopedia, the traits were obvious.
Besides transforming into a Giant Wolf, he had several other powers.
Incredible strength, the ability to breathe fire, secreting deadly poison, fangs sharp enough to pierce anything, plus another ability he hadn't used in front of Kaido—Sirius could already guess the identity of his power.
The wolf with these traits in mythology was clear.
Animal Zoan, Mythical Zoan, Model: Fenrir.
That should be the name.
The Black Wolf Sirius transformed into was the Giant Wolf from Norse mythology in his past life—the one whose open mouth would touch the sky with its upper jaw and the ground with its lower, swallowing the great god Odin, kicking off Ragnarok.
Unquestionably a top-tier Mythical Zoan.
So he really was lucky.
Sirius smiled, gripping Kaido's back fur, wrapped in clouds, greedily looking around.
Kaido was flying above the clouds, and before Sirius stretched a vast sea of white clouds, ethereal and boundless, like a pure white ocean.
It wasn't long before dusk arrived.
The setting sun's light spilled over the clouds, dyeing the whole white expanse gold.
Sirius stared blankly at the sight.
"It's so beautiful..."
"Beautiful? Kid! What nonsense are you spouting! What's this? The world is far bigger than what you see! On this sea, there are even more breathtaking sights!"
Kaido laughed heartily. For someone who could fly, this scenery was nothing special.
"But still, it's just so beautiful."
Sirius lounged leisurely on the cloud, sunlight spilling across his face as he said with a smile, "I can't call something beautiful ugly."
Being alive—it's really wonderful.
Coming to this world—it's really wonderful.
"One day,"
Sirius suddenly stood up, spreading his arms wide, tilting his head back as if to embrace the entire sky, and laughed heartily, "I'll set foot in every corner of the world! See all the scenery there is!"
"Ughohohoho! What a pathetic dream!"
Kaido mocked without restraint, accelerating so that the onrushing wind made Sirius lose his balance and fall backward onto the cloud.
"Uncle Kaido! A person's dreams shouldn't be laughed at, right?" Sirius lay on the Flame Cloud, laughing out loud.
"A brat talking about dreams! But suit yourself—as long as you don't defy me, do whatever you want! Turn this world upside down for all I care!"
Kaido's wild laughter swept through like a gust of wind, scattering the surrounding clouds across the sky.
"Just keep dreaming, kid!! This world can hold any crazy dream!!"
Sirius flipped over, sat cross-legged, and his face beamed with a bright smile.
Yeah, this world—it's a world for dreamers!
Let me say it again: coming to this world, it's really wonderful.
Sirius had no idea what island he was on, but it was probably in the New World.
Because Kaido hadn't flown for long—by around eight or nine in the evening, he began to descend. Once they dropped below the clouds, a massive island came into Sirius's view.
So this is Wano Country?
Sirius thought to himself.
Kaido didn't seem intent on landing on that large island. Instead, he flew along its coastline, and before long, a smaller island appeared.
Though still far off, Sirius could already clearly make out its shape.
A skull-like form, with a pair of massive horns pointing straight up at the sky, just like Kaido's.
"Ughohohoho!! Finally here!"
Kaido dove straight down, slipping in through the skull's eye socket and flying into the island's interior.
Setting aside the impressions inherited from this body's memories, this was Sirius's first time seeing the architecture of this world.
Inside the skull was a settlement, already taking shape in a Wano-style design.
But it still looked a bit different from the manga—at least much smaller in scale, since it was twenty years earlier in time.
Kaido landed in the plaza at the center of the buildings and reverted to human form.
Immediately, pirates swarmed around him.
"Boss Kaido's back!!"
"Haha, looks like he failed to die again this time!"
"No one can kill Boss Kaido, okay! Not even himself! Boss Kaido's invincible!"
Sirius sat on Kaido's shoulder, looking around at the pirates.
It was clear that Kaido was deeply trusted by his subordinates.
"Kid! Get off already! We're here."
Kaido turned his head, glancing at Sirius with irritation from the corner of his eye.
"So cold, Uncle Kaido."
Sirius grinned, hopping lightly off Kaido's shoulder and landing nimbly.
Thankfully, a year of training on the Desert Island had left Sirius's physique far beyond that of an ordinary six-year-old, even without using his abilities—otherwise, jumping from five or six meters up would've been pretty dangerous.
"Welcome back, Mr. Kaido."
A tall figure pushed through the crowd and walked over.
This man was clad entirely in black leather clothing and skin, wearing a hat and a mask, even gloves on his hands—his whole body was wrapped tight.
He had a pair of black wings on his back, and a flame burned behind his head.
Flame Calamity, King!
Sirius knew him, of course—Kaido's right-hand man.
"But Boss Kaido, you've picked up another brat this time! This place is turning into a daycare!"
Another voice rang out. A fat man in suspenders walked over, glanced at Sirius, and chuckled.
Plague Calamity, Queen.
"Ughohoho,"
Kaido smirked smugly. "Don't underestimate this kid! I've already decided he'll carry the name of the Third Calamity!"
"What?"
Both King and Queen stared at Sirius in utter shock.
Sirius waved with an innocent smile. "Hello there, uncles!"
