"I refuse!"

Yamato shouted.

She flatly rejected her old man's temptation.

Sirius smiled and shook his head.

What a hassle. He would have to find a way to help Yamato get that Devil Fruit.

Not having that fruit would still affect Yamato's strength in the future.

In the original story, Yamato had gotten hold of that fruit and eaten it because she was hungry. That meant either Uncle Kaido had done it deliberately, or it had not been kept very securely.

Either way, Sirius felt that getting his hands on that Devil Fruit would not be difficult.

Once the fruit had been eaten, what could Uncle Kaido do to Yamato?

That was what Sirius thought.

But then something caught him completely off guard.

Kaido shot Yamato a fierce glare. "You damn brat! Was the last beating not hard enough? Fine, very fine! Looks like you're itching for another one."

Sirius sighed softly. Was he going to get beaten ahead of schedule this time?

"If you don't want it, don't regret it later!"

Kaido crushed the box in his hand, yet held the Devil Fruit lightly enough that it was not damaged in the slightest. "Then let's play a game."

"A game?"

Sirius grinned. "Uncle Kaido, what kind of game?"

He had been on this island for three years. Though his daily training kept his life full, he still got bored sometimes. Playing a game sounded pretty nice.

Sirius's eager response seemed to please Kaido. He grinned broadly. "Worororororo! Let's have a battle for it that'll get everyone's blood pumping!"

"It'll be tomorrow! The location will be Onigashima! The prize is this fruit! Any bastard who covets it, come and take it!"

"Whoever grabs it gets to keep it!"

"Worororororo!"

Uncle Kaido laughed loudly. "Use your strength to prove who its most suitable owner is!"

Sirius was genuinely startled. The sense of déjà vu hit him all at once.

So that brat's whole routine had been learned from you, Uncle Kaido.

Still, it suited the Beasts Pirates perfectly.

Kaido's words were like a bomb tossed into water, instantly throwing the Beasts Pirates into an uproar.

"A Mythical Zoan! Okuchi no Makami! That's a Mythical Zoan!"

"Boss Kaido said whoever grabs it gets it!"

"Hahahaha! Once I get it, I can become an officer just like Lord Sirius!"

"That fruit is mine! Anyone who tries to take it, I'll kill them!"

"You? I could beat you to death with one hand! The Mythical Zoan Fruit is mine!"

Everyone knew that the Beasts Pirates were the most hardheaded bunch around.

They did not care whether they actually had the strength to seize the fruit. They just had to try and take it.

How would they know they could not do it unless they tried? What if they actually got it? Who could say for sure?

Among the jubilant pirates, two were particularly unusual.

Ulti hugged her little brother tightly amid the cheering pirates. Excitement shone in the little girl's eyes. "Did you hear that, Pay-tan? As long as we get that fruit, we can become officers! Then no one will bully us anymore!"

"Pay-tan! Your big sister is definitely getting that fruit!"

But in her excitement, she failed to notice that she was hugging her brother too tightly. The little boy's eyes had started rolling back, and his little face was turning red.

"Big—Sister—"

"Eh! Pay-tan! Who did this to you?"

However, their voices were swallowed by the cheering pirates and did not stand out at all. No one paid them any attention.

After hearing Kaido explain the rules, Sirius's eyes lit up. He immediately asked, "Boss Kaido, you said anyone can participate. Does that include people with abilities like me?"

Kaido glared at him. "Didn't you hear me? I said anyone."

Sirius nodded, then asked, "Will Teacher King and Teacher Queen participate?"

"I don't have time for that." Queen waved a hand and chuckled. "Muhahahaha! My Plague Calamity Bomb is at a critical stage of improvement."

Sirius nodded. It was not surprising. This guy's Plague Calamity Bomb kept receiving new versions, mainly because Sirius had been continuously supplying him with poisons.

"King won't participate either."

Kaido said, "King will serve as the referee and oversee the whole situation from the sky."

"I understand, Mr. Kaido." Teacher King never opposed Uncle Kaido's decisions.

Sirius had always been curious about what had happened between him and Uncle Kaido to make him obey Uncle Kaido so completely.

"I see. I understand."

Sirius smiled and nodded.

Since King and Queen were not participating, did that not mean his chance to seize the Okuchi-no-Makami Fruit had arrived?

The current Beasts Pirates were not like the future ones. Only three of the Flying Six had been gathered so far, and they were all just little brats.

Below the two Calamities were mostly nobodies. Only the Numbers could be considered formidable. The other minor officers, the Pillars, were nothing but trash.

Kaido seemed to know what Sirius was thinking. He snorted but said nothing.

Then the banquet began.

Amid the celebration, everyone began enjoying the feast.

Sirius had already started stuffing himself, his mouth packed full.

Over the past two years, Yamato had never again suggested competing with him in appetite. Jack also no longer claimed that his idol, Uncle Kaido, could out-eat Sirius.

Sirius had already proven that his appetite was unmatched.

While eating, Sirius mumbled, "Tomorrow, let's help Yamato get that fruit."

"Yeah."

Jack, who was also stuffing himself, nodded.

"Sure."

Black Maria smiled sweetly.

Sirius nudged Yamato beside him, who was wolfing down food. "Stop eating. What do you think?"

"Mhm, mhm, mhm."

Yamato nodded repeatedly, swallowing the food in her mouth with effort before raising her right hand and clenching it into a fist. "It's mine!"

The banquet continued until midnight and only ended after most of the pirates had passed out drunk.

As usual, Sirius spent half the night gorging himself, eating enough food for a whole crowd before setting off back to their quarters with his friends.

"The Numbers are the ones we need to watch out for most tomorrow!"

As usual, Sirius sat on Jack's shoulder and listened to his friend analyze the situation. "They definitely won't pass up this chance!"

"Every one of those guys is like a monster!" Black Maria added. "I'm afraid not even you can compete with them in strength, Sirius."

"We won't know if I can beat them until tomorrow."

Sirius smiled. "Besides, their greatest advantage might just be our advantage."

"That's right!"

Yamato was full of confidence. "We'll definitely succeed!"

Suddenly, a burst of commotion came from ahead.

Sirius looked toward the sound and saw an interesting sight.

The brother and sister from earlier were surrounded by four pirates.

The younger brother hid behind his sister, while she raised her head defiantly and glared at the ill-intentioned pirates.

"Look at that, this little brat still isn't convinced!"

One pirate laughed. "What a temper. No wonder she dared to cross Lady Oni-Hime."

"She's asking to die."

Another pirate sneered. "What does she think Onigashima is? Boss Kaido does not even care about you two, yet you still said you want to seize that fruit. Hey, little girl, you're asking to die!"

"Wow, those guys are bullying them!"

Yamato instantly flew into a rage, her hand reaching for the Spiked Club on her back.

"Wait."

Sirius stopped her. "Don't interfere."

"Eh?"

Yamato froze.

Over there.

The surrounding pirates made the young Page One very afraid. He instinctively clutched the clothes at his sister's back. "Big Sister!"

"You—"

Ulti lowered her head, her bangs casting shadows over her eyes. "You!"

"You scared my Pay-tan, you bastards!!"

The little girl sprang up and slammed her head directly into the pirate's stomach.

She was incredibly strong, sending the pirate flying.

Her temper was far more explosive than anyone could have imagined.

"Argh!"

The pirate screamed and crashed heavily to the ground. After grimacing in pain for a while, he shouted furiously,

"What are you idiots standing around for? Beat her up!"
