Zhang Tie hurried along and soon hailed a beast carriage.
He leaped aboard and gave the driver a few simple instructions. The beast carriage swayed as it headed toward the city center.
Before long, the beast carriage came to a steady stop before a shop called Carefree Pavilion.
Zhang Tie took several spirit stones from his storage ring and casually tossed them to the driver, his movements crisp and efficient. With a flash, he jumped down from the carriage, straightened his clothes, and strode into Carefree Pavilion.
"You go attend to your duties. I'll receive this senior myself."
A maid dressed like a young girl in green had just stepped forward to ask Zhang Tie what he needed when a round-faced middle-aged man behind the counter raised a hand to stop her.
The green-skirted maid froze slightly, a trace of disappointment flashing through her eyes. She hurriedly retreated to a shelf at the side, folded her hands together, and stood perfectly straight.
"Welcome, Senior. This junior is Fu Qinshou." The round-faced middle-aged man beamed as he bowed slightly to Zhang Tie. "Please come upstairs so we may speak in detail."
When Zhang Tie gave a slight nod, Fu Qinshou immediately turned sideways and led the way, his steps light as he occasionally looked back to make sure Zhang Tie was following.
The two went up the stairs to a private room on the third floor. As soon as they sat down, the tea Fu Qinshou had ordered earlier was steadily brought in by an attendant.
"This isn't my first time dealing with your Carefree Pavilion." Zhang Tie leaned back, his expression calm. Before the round-faced middle-aged man could speak, he casually waved his hand, and more than a dozen storage rings fell onto the table with a series of clinks.
