In the parallel world, Shikamaru maneuvers through competing crises as Daren Yi and Izumi Uchiha travel with Shisui, Kakashi, and Anko toward an undisclosed mission.

• Kobayashi Kuri’s Heaven’s Favor causes his captors to die in accidents, and he escapes his chains before the effect expires, and he later sends his location to Konohagakure, where Asuma Sarutobi rescues him and the other captives.
• Sakura Haruno uncovers the hospital director’s trafficking and human experimentation, then uses Yin Release to torment him and vows to remember the Evil God Cult and Jashin.
• Temari tells Shikamaru Nara that Madara Uchiha is manipulating Obito Uchiha to form an anti-Konoha alliance, and that Sunagakure’s leaders plan to take the One-Tail from Gaara.
• Shikamaru proposes an alliance of idealists to counter the united front and plans to install Gaara as Sunagakure’s acting Kazekage, and he then sends the Sky Patrol Department to the Land of Grass.
• Asuma receives intelligence on the Evil God Cult and Hidan from a mysterious man who beats him at shogi, while Shikamaru’s group heads toward the Land of Grass with Temari and Sakura.
• In the Reincarnation Space, Shikamaru explains the value of larger institutions to Choji and Ino, while Daren Yi and Shikaku Nara visit the Konoha Aerospace Base as ninja teams build spacecraft.
• In the Land of Fire, Danzo argues for war after Mask’s attack, while Hiruzen and Minato advocate caution and internal reforms, and meanwhile, Kakashi threatens Daren Yi at a station before Shisui intervenes.
• Daren Yi and Izumi Uchiha travel with Shisui, Kakashi, and Anko, after Daren says he and Izumi are going on a honeymoon, the trio leave the train and later join Shisui’s secret chat channel in a coastal city.
