Mei recalls a difficult period at Chiyu Academy after her father was imprisoned. Ostracized as the “daughter of a criminal,” she learned to endure hostility and eventually earned recognition through her own strength; “Raiden Queen” became a reputation rather than a mocking nickname 649.

In the Honkai Impact 3rd storyline, Kiana had previously awakened Mei from a similar darkness. When Benares shields Mei from the Imaginary Husk, Mei again encounters the Herrscher of Thunder personality, whose cold manner conceals concern for both Mei and Kiana 62.
