Background / History

Kiana was a high-school student when she discovered that Honkai Impact 3rd contained a white-haired, blue-eyed character named Kiana who closely resembled her. Learning that MiHoYo had been founded by her sister and her sister’s friends, she shyly concluded that she had been used as the character’s template. She later visited the studio with Hu Tao. 14

Her in-game counterpart’s story initially places her in Sky Dome City, where she investigates World Serpent’s Stigmata Project despite severe physical problems and Kevin Kaslana’s overwhelming power. During Jackal’s experiments, she uses the interrogation to learn about the plan while enduring torture. 38 39

Kiana’s body is revealed to contain three Herrscher Cores. One erodes her body, while Sirin’s consciousness threatens to seize control; the condition is described as incurable. Rather than return to safety, Kiana intends to absorb the abnormal Honkai energy in Chang Kong City herself to stop another disaster. 59

Taixu Mountain and the Herrscher of Sentience

After Mei’s departure, Kiana travels with Bronya to Taixu Mountain to seek Fu Hua’s Taixu Sword Qi, hoping it will help her control the Herrscher of the Void’s power. 78

When confronting the Herrscher of Sentience, Kiana follows Fu Hua’s guidance and exploits the Herrscher’s uncertainty over whether she is truly Fu Hua. She avoids simply destroying her opponent, recognizing that the newly born Herrscher still possesses benevolence and can be pushed toward an opening without being driven fully to the Honkai’s side. 85

Kiana later experiences Fu Hua’s memories and loneliness within the Herrscher of Sentience’s illusion. Refusing to abandon her mentor, she vows to save Fu Hua and confronts the illusion with renewed resolve. 88

Herrscher of Domination

Kiana is drawn alone into the Theater of Domination, where surviving puppets weaponize the suffering of Sky Dome City’s survivors and her guilt over the destruction caused by the Herrscher of the Void. Though shaken, she continues to insist on saving people despite the complexity and cruelty of human nature. 104

The Herrscher of the Void later takes control of Kiana’s consciousness and attempts to define her entirely through Sirin’s hatred, Himeko’s death, and Kiana’s past destruction. Kiana accepts that she is Subject K423 and Sirin’s successor, but rejects the claim that hatred alone defines Sirin or herself. 107 108

After defeating the Herrscher of the Void and inheriting the gems’ power, Kiana joins Bronya and Fu Hua against the Herrscher of Domination. She ultimately transforms into the Herrscher of Flamescion, using her friends’ support and Himeko’s legacy to defeat the united malice of the puppets. 109 115 117

Quantum Sea and Finality

While unable to use the Herrscher of the Void’s authority freely, Kiana works with Bronya against Quantum Shadows. Guided to a weak point in space, she opens a portal and is pulled into the Quantum Sea, where she reunites with Mei. 552

After Shi Bao helps break her mental shackles during a spar in mental space, Kiana regains part of the Herrscher of the Void’s power and repairs a broken bridge. 556

Kiana eventually becomes the Herrscher of Finality. She publicly announces that she will protect Earth and resolve the power of Finality, but chooses to live and work on the Moon until Earth can safely withstand that power. Her separation from her companions is temporary, and she remains able to communicate with them through Finality Authority. 670 671

She begins as a comparatively inexperienced player who is easily frustrated by difficult bosses, but she is stubborn enough to practice, learn combat mechanics, and improve after repeated failures.
