Background
Hongjun presided over Zixiao Palace as the Dao Ancestor and regarded all beings as pieces on a chessboard. He designed the broad course of the Primordial World’s Calamities, including the Witch-Demon conflict, Buzhou Mountain’s collapse, Nuwa’s future merit from mending the heavens, and the Human Race’s rise after the major clans weakened each other 25.
His control began to fail when Xuanzheng’s Buzhou Mountain reinforcement project dimmed the causal thread of Gonggong striking the mountain. Hongjun could not directly erase the project: it was shielded by Pangu’s aura and immense Heavenly Dao Merit, and forceful intervention risked backlash from the Heavenly Dao itself 25 28.
In response, Hongjun convened his Zixiao Palace lecture, intending to reassert control over the Primordial World’s future through Dao teachings and Saint Positions. Xuanzheng repeatedly disrupted this effort—commercializing entry to the lecture, exploiting Saint Position contracts, and turning Hongjun’s arrangements into opportunities for the Witch Clan 28 43 62.
Much later, records recovered from Hongjun’s server revealed that he had been a Plane Administrator, No. 007, serving the Sea of Chaos Order Maintenance Council. His assigned duty was to oversee Calamities in the Primordial World and harvest Origin Energy for the Council’s quotas. He secretly planned to escape the Council’s control through an “Ark Plan,” but Pangu Group’s rise destroyed that plan 557.
Personality
Hongjun initially presents himself as detached, calculating, and supremely confident. He treats history as a managed script, cultivators as expendable pieces, and Calamities as tools for shaping the Primordial World’s development 25.
Xuanzheng’s interference steadily exposes his insecurity. When established causal threads break, Merit rejects his interference, and his authority is stripped away, Hongjun becomes increasingly wrathful, humiliated, and desperate 28 191 200.
Despite this decline, Hongjun remains highly strategic. He seeks outside allies, preserves backdoors and escape routes, makes arrangements with the Mechanical Demon God, and later provides Council intelligence when survival requires cooperation 192 519 575. His eventual acceptance of Pangu Group’s contract is pragmatic rather than loyal: he chooses employment under Xuanzheng over pursuit by the Council and the Sea of Chaos Bank 570 572.
Abilities & Skills
Heavenly Dao Authority
As Dao Ancestor and Heavenly Dao Spokesperson, Hongjun could observe and influence the Primordial World’s causal structure, manipulate Heavenly Dao operations, assign Saint Positions, and formulate Calamity scripts 25 62 191.
- Could inspect causal threads through the Jade Plate of Creation, including the intended destruction of Buzhou Mountain 25.
- Issued Heavenly Dao warnings and used the Human Race’s karmic debt to suppress its destiny 145.
- Could manifest through Heavenly Dao Laws and attempt to trigger the Primordial World’s destruction through complete conformity to the Dao 146.
- His authority was reduced by Xuanzheng from S-class Heavenly Dao Spokesperson privileges to A-class Saint-level permissions, cutting off roughly ninety percent of his connection to the Heavenly Dao 191.
- Within Pangu Group’s isolated Zixiao Palace network, his divine sense was further downgraded to a “Guest” account and could no longer invoke the palace’s Laws 546.
Dao and Law Comprehension
Hongjun possesses profound knowledge of the Three Thousand Great Daos and the Laws governing the Primordial World.
- The Jade Plate of Creation contains mysteries of the Three Thousand Great Daos and served as a core tool for his deductions 25.
- His Law manifestation could halt time’s flow, distort space, and accelerate the Primordial World’s decay during his attempted mutual destruction with Xuanzheng 146.
- He created or maintained techniques and systems including the Three Corpses Saint Method and mechanisms governing Calamities 224.
- His understanding of higher-dimensional systems, the Sea of Chaos, and the Council later makes him valuable as Pangu Group’s technical advisor 557 572.
Strategic Planning and Manipulation
Hongjun is an experienced planner who constructs long-term schemes around causality, fate, and information asymmetry.
- Planned the Witch-Demon Calamity to weaken both factions and create conditions for the Human Race’s ascendance 25.
- Convened the Zixiao Palace lecture to draw in powerful cultivators and establish a new Saint-centered order 28 62.
- Attempted to counter Xuanzheng by raising Haotian and Yaochi as Heavenly Court rulers empowered by Heavenly Dao authority 110.
- Lured the Lord of Bone Erosion toward the Primordial World by concealing the strength of Xuanzheng and the Meritorious Saint Witches 192.
- His deception was publicly exposed as commercial fraud and malicious employment after the Lord of Bone Erosion was recruited by Pangu Group 200.
Divine Sense and Backdoors
Hongjun can operate through fragments of divine sense and has employed hidden mechanisms to influence events from afar.
- Sent a trace of divine sense beyond the Primordial World to contact the Lord of Bone Erosion 192.
- Planted a backdoor virus that allowed him to speak through Shi Hao’s employee identification aura 541.
- Retained hidden functionality while participating in Pangu Group’s infiltration plan, though its purpose was not disclosed 584.
- His divine sense retains crushing pressure even after his decline, though it can be physically restrained and appraised by Pangu Group 546 547.
Council Intelligence and Technical Expertise
Hongjun’s former position as Council Administrator No. 007 gave him specialized knowledge unavailable to most Primordial World inhabitants.
- Knows the Council’s organizational structure, resource operations, internal weaknesses, and Real World-related technology 557.
- Identified the Information Black Hole and the True Realm as a possible escape route beyond the Great Dao, though it requires conversion into pure information 519 520.
- Provided Pangu Group with the location, garrison, defenses, and hidden access route for a Council Resource Transfer Station 572 575.
- Was assigned to translate Observer-7’s memory core and compile reports on the Sea of Chaos and the Real World 578 579.
Equipment / Assets
- Jade Plate of Creation — A Dao treasure containing mysteries of the Three Thousand Great Daos and used to observe fate and causal threads. It later cracked under Hongjun’s anger, and fragments were seized or recovered by Xuanzheng 25 65 511.
- Zixiao Palace — Hongjun’s former Daoist seat, lecture hall, and later-revealed “server” containing records of Calamities and Council-related data 43 556.
- Six Purple Cushions — Former Zixiao Palace interfaces associated with the palace’s server structure 556.
- Hongjun’s Server Logs — Encrypted records documenting his work as Plane Administrator No. 007, the Council’s quotas, and his failed Ark Plan 557.
Relationships
- Xuanzheng — Principal adversary turned unwilling employer. Xuanzheng repeatedly dismantles Hongjun’s plans, strips his authority, exposes his schemes, and eventually binds him to Pangu Group as Chief Technical Advisor 25 191 200 572.
- Heavenly Dao — Hongjun merged with and acted as its spokesperson, but the Heavenly Dao’s rules repeatedly resisted his interference with merit-backed repairs. Xuanzheng later reduced Hongjun’s administrative authority over it 25 191.
- Sea of Chaos Order Maintenance Council — Hongjun’s former superior organization. He managed the Primordial World for the Council, harvested Origin Energy through Calamities, and later became a fugitive after attempting to escape its control 557.
- Sea of Chaos Bank — A creditor pursuing Hongjun over unpaid debt; Pangu Group encounters the bank while searching for him 570.
- Lord of Bone Erosion — A Chaos Demon God Hongjun recruited through deception to attack the Primordial World. The plan failed when Xuanzheng recruited the demon god into Pangu Group instead 192 197.

- Sun Wukong — An enforcer of Pangu Group who restrains and threatens Hongjun during his recruitment and subsequent service 572 573.
