"Thrum!" An even louder hum rang out as Rohan's distinctive horn bows began lobbing shots. These elite regular archers did not draw and loose with abandon like the militia and herdsmen; after all, horn bows could not be drawn as many times as soft bows.

"Pfft!" Barbed iron arrows flew through the air, trailing a shrieking gust behind them.

"Thud, thud, thud!" Many Orcs held crude wooden boards before them. The soft bows lacked sufficient draw strength, and most arrows embedded themselves in the boards without penetrating any further.

"Those are logs split in half." Grand Duke Ocrean Yaso shook his head. Wasteland Orcs had always been nomadic tribes. Orcs with clans would never take a liking to such things, which was why Wasteland Orcs mostly served as cannon fodder for Clan Orcs. They were driven forward by those Clan Orcs to fill the ranks, and when food ran short, they could even become food themselves. Naturally, they possessed no worthwhile productive capacity.
