"Spearmen, prepare!" Grand Duke Ocrean Yaso watched the Orcs howling beneath the Soft Bows with an indifferent gaze. Some Orcs who had been struck by arrows but had not died were lifted up by the companions behind them and thrown into the river. Smarter Orcs dragged other Orcs in front of them to use as shields. Yet after a barrage of arrows, the Orc formation had already fallen into disarray. Grand Duke Ocrean Yaso was utterly speechless. It seemed neither side had a clear understanding of its own strength!
"It's too chaotic! These Orcs..." Okrian-Lujin trailed off. After all, the Orcs at the front wanted to retreat, while those behind clung to them and refused to let them pull back. What had once been a somewhat orderly wave attack had completely turned into a disaster!
"No, those Warg Riders have achieved their goal!" Grand Duke Ocrean Yaso shook his head. Watching the Orcs struggling after being crowded into the water, he sighed. To the Orc clans, these Wandering Orcs were expendable to begin with. Their objective was clear: fill in this stretch of moat!
"Prepare for close combat! Archers, use Lobbing Shots!" Grand Duke Ocrean Yaso tried to phrase his orders as plainly as possible for these poorly educated soldiers and militiamen. Firing high into the air would let the arrows rain down at close range, effectively avoiding the problem of direct shots being blocked by living sandbags.
