Peter adjusted his glasses, glanced over the students looking up at him, then covered his phone's receiver and said to them:
"Wait a moment. I need to take a call. I'll be right back."
With that, he walked out with his phone. The young Mutants seated behind their desks immediately began chattering.
"I bet it's Gwen again. She used to call Teacher Parker three times a day!"
"Keep it down! If Teacher Parker hears you, he'll definitely scold you!"
"What's there to be afraid of? Teacher Parker is so gentle, way better than that Osborn."
