The sound of knock, knock, knock echoed through an overly minimalist office. Magneto, who had just returned to the room and was hanging up his coat by the rack, frowned slightly.
Then he heard Schiller's voice from outside the door.
"Hello, Mr. Lehnsherr. Professor X brought you a gift and asked me to deliver it. May I come in?"
Magneto's brow relaxed slightly. He did not stop what he was doing, merely saying in a low voice, "Come in."
Schiller pushed open the door and walked in, carrying two boxes. After reaching the doorway, he glanced at Magneto hanging up his clothes, then went to sit on the sofa in the office's reception area. However, instead of placing the boxes on the coffee table, he set them directly on the floor by his feet.
Then he stood up, took off his coat, and handed it to Magneto. "Could you hang this up for me? Thank you."
Schiller's movements were so natural that Magneto had no excuse to refuse.
Magneto had already been hanging up clothes, and hanging a coat for a guest who had just arrived was the most ordinary form of hospitality. Refusing would have seemed rather impolite.
Magneto made a slight gesture with his hand. Schiller's coat floated into the air, but he did not catch it immediately. Instead, he put on a glove before taking the coat and hanging it on the rack.
Once the coat was hung up, its front panels straightened themselves and its collar was tidied. In an instant, every speck of dust vanished from it, as it had from every other piece of clothing on the rack.
Schiller silently observed these movements until Magneto, dressed in a black fitted undershirt, turned around.
He was still very tall, even a centimeter taller than Schiller,
