After leaving Wayne Manor, Schiller made a detour back to Rodriguez Manor to pick up more of his luggage, then went to the Gotham Police Department. Under Gordon's arrangements, he settled into a guest room.
The Gotham Police Department was a comprehensive workplace. Like Arkham Asylum, it had accommodations in addition to offices, and after its renovation, its lodging standards had become even more luxurious.
The guest room Schiller was staying in rivaled a luxury hotel suite. More importantly, unlike Arkham Asylum by the Peninsula coast, the Gotham Police Department was closer to the city center and built halfway up a hill. The view was lovely, the air was less damp, and it was practically the perfect place to recuperate.

As an ordinary person, Schiller needed a job. But like all ordinary people, he hoped for one that was relaxed, kept regular hours, and did not pay too poorly.
In Gotham, such jobs were hard to find. Most industries connected to gangs
