Martha stood with her eyes blazing and her hands on her hips. Clark and Bruce could only stand at the kitchen door with their heads bowed, taking the scolding, while Jonathan leaned against the refrigerator nearby and watched the show.

"Clark! I really never expected this from you. How could you take Bruce out to play with water?!" Martha glared at Clark.

Clark opened his mouth and pointed at Bruce, wanting to explain that Bruce had started it, but Martha immediately cut him off. "Bruce is a guest in our home, and you actually made him wash dishes?!"

"I only took my eyes off you for two minutes. Not only did you make a sick guest wash dishes, you got him soaked from head to toe! Don't you know a wound can't get wet before it heals?!"

Clark lowered his head and muttered dejectedly, "I know, Mom. I'll clean it up."

"All right, don't be angry." Jonathan immediately stepped in to smooth things over. He put an arm around Martha's waist and led her outside. "Young men are always like this. They're still a long way from being sensible. It reminds me of when my brother and I used to camp by the Mississippi River. He could never beat me in a water fight..."

As their voices faded into the distance, Clark gave Bruce a helpless look. But when he saw the water on Bruce's collar and sleeves, he still said worriedly, "Hurry upstairs and change your clothes. Don't let your wound get infected."

Bruce gently shook his head. "I'm not that fragile. I went down to Hell once and consumed a great deal of soul energy. Once the strength of the soul overflows, it actively heals the body. My Self-Healing ability is much stronger than an ordinary person's."
