On a street in the Bronx, a gigantic black monster covered in sharp teeth leaped down from a rooftop. With a bang, it smashed a huge crater into the ground.
It was several stories tall, pitch-black all over, with white spider markings across its chest. More terrifyingly, enormous Slime tentacles lashed about behind it, making it look like a monster straight out of Hell.
Pedestrians fled in every direction, screaming as they darted into the alleys. Yet although the monster looked terrifying, it did not seem very bright. After jumping down, it only stood there posing. Even after everyone had run away, it did not make a move.
Suddenly, the giant monster's white spider eyes locked onto a figure in a coffee shop on the corner. It was a middle-aged man in a plaid shirt, wearing rimless glasses and carrying a briefcase. He had just bought a cup of coffee and was about to push the door open to leave.
At the sight of the gigantic monster, the man's hand trembled, spilling his freshly bought coffee. He backed away in fear, curled up inside the shop, and crouched behind a chair with his hands over his head.
At that moment, several figures also leaped down from the high-rises. At the front was Scarlet Witch, her red cape billowing behind her, followed by the black-clad Night Thrasher and Speedball in his brightly colored uniform. Bringing up the rear was Squirrel Girl, with her huge fluffy tail.
