"Listen, Bruce, don't move, you can't..."
With a swish, Bruce pulled the dagger back out. Blood gushed forth, and all three of them froze where they stood.
But Schiller did not collapse. Gray Mist spread out, instantly healing his wound. He picked up his suit jacket and draped it over his arm again, then smiled at the three of them. "Scared you, didn't I? Remember, next time you come here, don't break anything."
Clark's legs gave out, and he leaned against the wall. Hal immediately slid down the doorframe, while Diana clutched her stomach, let out a long breath, and crouched down. Then all three glared furiously at Bruce at the same time.
Bruce spread his hands. "You should have seen it coming."
"I told you we shouldn't get involved in a madman's business!" Hal immediately glared at Clark. "We never should have gotten involved from the start!"
"Oh my God, my shirt is soaked through with cold sweat!" Diana sat down on the floor without much concern for her dignity, clutching her faintly aching stomach. "I really can't take this anymore! I can't stay in this insane city for even one more minute!"
With that, the dark-haired princess got to her feet somewhat awkwardly and headed out, waving a hand as she said, "Don't call me if either of them dies. That's it!"
Clark stood up, though his legs were still trembling slightly. He said to Bruce in annoyance, "You were never on our side. You two lunatics can spend the rest of your lives together!"
With that, he strode out as well. Only Hal remained, leaning against the wall. After steadying himself, he said, "I'm not attending anyone's funeral with either of you ever again, because even if you're dead and buried, you'd crawl out of your coffins
