"Master Kaz, it's been a long time."

A slightly husky, pleasant female voice echoed through the cabin. Kaz narrowed his eyes. Deep wrinkles lined his aged face as he slowly spoke her name. "Crimson Queen Mary, what do you want with me?"

"I'm not here for you." The woman called Crimson Queen Mary wore a fitted silk gown patterned with dark crimson roses. Her red eyes glimmered faintly in the dim room.

"Andrew Bennett, my former husband and now a traitor to the bloodline. I heard he was sleeping in All Souls Cemetery, but I didn't sense his presence. Where did you hide him?"

"I've never heard of any Bennett." Kaz warily took a step back. "Mary, do you intend to break the pact between the bloodline and the mages?"

"The Demon Sect never agreed to any pact." Mary raised a brow. "Tell me where he is, and I'll spare you."

Kaz's expression abruptly turned cold. He clenched the scalpel in his hand, and the Skeleton Monarch's power flowed between his fingers.

"Since becoming an Archmage, no one has ever dared to disrespect me like this! You bloodsucking vermin, get out of my territory!"

With a low roar, countless ghosts began wailing. Corpses and bones from the dissection table flew into the air, assembling into a flesh puppet that raised its enormous fist and smashed it toward Mary.

Mary calmly dispersed into bats and flew up to the ceiling beams. Her icy voice came from above.

"Kaz, I advise you not to mistake kindness for weakness. The Demon Sect has long obtained power beyond your imagination. We are purging traitors according to the progenitor's prophecy. If you stand in my way, you will pay a hundredfold price."

"Arrogant woman. Try getting past my pet first."
