Unable to tolerate it any longer, Adam finally found an Assassin named Eugene. He had nothing to do with Hydra, the KGB, or S.H.I.E.L.D. He wanted to kill Nick Fury purely because he was a white supremacist who believed that all people of color in high positions should go to Hell.
His hatred for Nick was intense, and he had a motive. The only problem was that he was too mediocre, not even ranking among mercenaries, let alone in the demon-infested chaos of New York.
But lacking ability was not a problem. Adam gave him an extremely detailed guide, and Eugene was very obedient. Following Adam's instructions, he successfully infiltrated S.H.I.E.L.D.
Unfortunately, Nick happened to be gathering the young heroes around him to brief them on precautions. Among them was a Spider-Man with Spider-Sense. Eugene rushed in and raised his gun, but before he could pull the trigger, Spider-Man knocked the weapon away.
Still, the incident gave Nick quite a scare. He truly had not expected anyone to break through S.H.I.E.L.D.'s layers of defenses and reach his office. That had not been part of his plan.
So he immediately took preventive measures. He told the New York superheroes not to leave yet, ordering them to remain in New York and investigate who had enough influence to send an Assassin straight to Nick.
Just as Adam thought he had corrected one timeline, he discovered that Nick's new superhero deployment list for the Annihilation Zerg consisted of superheroes outside New York. The main members were roughly: Captain America, Iron Man, Daredevil, Venom...
Adam practically needed oxygen.
Looking again, he found Captain America and Iron Man filming a documentary in Hollywood under Eddie's organization. He immediately rushed to Hollywood to stop these superheroes, who were closer to Schiller, from heading to the battlefield.
