When Jack arrived, he was unusually not wearing his trucker work clothes. Instead, he wore his classic deep purple suit, paired with a green tie patterned with swirls. Combined with his green hair and face painted with exaggerated lipstick, he really did look a bit like a successful comedian.
Barbara still shrank back a little when she saw him, but she was no longer as tense as a statue like she had been at first. Jack plopped down into a single-seater sofa, grinned at everyone in turn, took the tea Alfred handed him, and gulped down a mouthful before nearly spitting it out from the heat.
Strange nudged Schiller with his elbow and asked, "Who's this guy? His taste in ties is truly awful."
Schiller turned his head slightly and glanced at Strange's tie. Who knew where he had gotten the money for it, but it was a custom-made sapphire-blue paisley tie, paired with a crisp black suit. He looked exactly like a top salesman.
Strange crossed one leg over the other and looked Schiller over from head to toe. A completely unremarkable black three-piece suit, with a dark red tie barely distinguishable from black. He clicked his tongue and said, "I didn't expect your taste in suits to be so conservative."
"You look so businesslike it's as if you brought all of Manhattan with you. That's why you were stuck in traffic for two extra hours," Schiller said without mercy.
Seeing Bruce and Barbara trying not to laugh, Strange cleared his throat awkwardly and said, "You're much sharper-tongued than the Schiller I know."
A while later, Constantine and Zatanna arrived as well. Constantine had also unusually put on a suit, and had even tidied up his messy hair and beard. Zatanna wore a dark blue dress.
