Schiller decided to buy himself a computer.

In his previous life, Schiller had owned a computer too. When he studied abroad, he had assembled a desktop himself. After becoming a professor, he mostly used the office laptops issued uniformly by the university.

All versions of Schiller had roughly the same level of skill with electronic assembly. As for just how good that was, one would have to ask the trash can at S.H.I.E.L.D. that had once been filled with discarded parts.

In this era, assembling a computer was not as simple as buying components and installing them in a case. Assembly was practically equivalent to building one barehanded, so putting together a desktop had never been among Schiller's options.

That left buying a prebuilt machine, but Schiller still preferred a laptop. It would solve the problem of having no computer in both his office and the manor. Though laptops of this era were hardly slim or light, they were manageable if transported by car.

Greed did have a laptop stored with Gray Mist, one he had brought over from Marvel. But Stark had made that laptop for him. If you swung it around and threw it, it could punch through the moon. It was a little too advanced for Schiller, who only wanted to check his email, so he still planned to buy one himself.

Schiller and Merkel drove to the commercial district on the South Side, where Gotham's Electronic Equipment Procurement Center was located.

Thanks to Gotham's booming logistics industry, the area had also become the East Coast's largest warehousing center for electronic components. Many major electronics corporations had established logistics warehouses here, and the retail electronics industry aimed at ordinary people had surpassed that of other East Coast cities in barely two years.

Not many people owned computers
