Gotham University's High-Energy Physics Laboratory was located on the west side of the campus. Funded by Luthor Corp, it was the newest and largest High-Energy Physics research facility on the East Coast. All experiments related to Gotham's weather were conducted there.
It was hard to say whether using Angel's halo to sweep away all of Gotham's clouds counted as High-Energy Physics, but the experiment did require certain High-Energy Physics equipment. As a result, Lex had spent most of his academic life in Gotham in this laboratory.
An entire team there researched Gotham's weather. Besides some of Gotham University's more outstanding genius students, several climatologists interested in Gotham's unusual climate conditions had also joined Luthor's funded research team.
The results spoke for themselves. Gotham had basically achieved artificial climate control, and last night's downpour had been the result of artificial rain. When Lex got up that morning, he hurriedly pulled on a T-shirt and beach shorts, bought a coffee from a vending machine, and rushed to the laboratory.
This had been his routine for the past few years. After all, making Gotham see the sun was about as difficult as making an enemy of the entire world. Even for an unparalleled genius like Luthor, the academic pressure was immense. Without getting up early and working late, he might not have achieved such astonishing results.
It had rained all night, leaving puddles all over the roads. Wearing slippers, Lex shuffled down the tree-lined path beside the teaching buildings, drained the last of his coffee, crushed the cup in his hand, tossed it into the trash can by the laboratory entrance, and pushed open the doors to the lab building.
People greeted him all along the way. Lex sleepily nodded from side to side. He had monitored Gotham's indoor wind direction and humidity
