"I didn't need my ears, didn't need to open my eyes, and didn't need to use a single brain cell to know it—Professor Schiller was behind this. One hundred percent!"

In the silver-white space, a youth's voice rang out. Through the layers of white mist at the edge, only a vague black silhouette and two pointed ears could be seen.

In an instant, five heads appeared above the circular platform. Bruce, Diana, Clark, Pamela, and Lex Luthor stood neatly at the five sides of the pentagon.

Clark turned first and looked at Bruce in his Batman suit. "Why are you wearing that outfit again?"

"I was standing guard upstairs. I'd just closed my eyes to rest for a moment when I found myself here," Bruce replied.

"Same here. I was writing a paper, got a little sleepy, and when I opened my eyes, I was here." Lex sighed. "I hope what he said about time in the real world being frozen was true. Otherwise, I'll miss another deadline."

"Looks like we're all about the same." Diana spread her hands against the edge of the platform. "I was working as a guide at the Metropolis Art Expo. During lunch break, I leaned back in my chair and took a nap. When I opened my eyes, Earth was beneath my feet. I thought I'd sleepwalked here."

Everyone turned their eyes to Pamela. With her arms folded, Pamela said, "Is it really that strange for me to take a nap? Let's hear your earlier theory first, Bruce."

Everyone looked back at Bruce. He shook his head and said, "I don't think I need to repeat it, because the truth is obvious—there is no possibility that this wasn't Schiller causing trouble."

"And this stuff about the universe being destroyed..." Clark frowned, looking somewhat troubled.
