The moment they entered America Street, a fantastical scene appeared before them. Disney's classic characters were strolling all over the street.
The characters on the parade floats still visibly wore mascot costumes, but these characters walking through the streets had completely realistic fur, lively expressions, flexible features, and voices exactly like those in the cartoons.
Although Disney's performers were quite dedicated, most characters did not speak, because their voices differed too greatly from the animated versions, and it was impossible to assign each of them a dedicated voice actor.
However, some particularly talented performers could speak. Like the Mickey Mouse and Minnie Schiller had encountered during the day—their voices had been very similar to those in the cartoons, and their intonations were close as well. They had probably received extremely professional voice training.
