"What was that?!!!!!" Clark shouted at the Crocodile Man over his shoulder as he ran.
"Ask who I am first!! You rude out-of-towner!!!"
"Fine!! Then who are you?!!!"
"I'm Killer Croc!!"
"Are you a crocodile?!!"
"I'm a fucking killer!!!"
Killer Croc swiftly grabbed Clark by the arm and yanked him into a side passage. The two watched helplessly as the enormous crocodile tornado swept past them.
"What was that?" Clark asked.
Killer Croc squatted where he stood and rubbed the bridge of his broken nose, assuming he even had such a thing.
"That was a shark!"
"What shark? Wasn't that a crocodile?"
"You know it's a crocodile, and you're still asking me?!!"
Clark rubbed his temples. "I know it was a crocodile, and you're a crocodile. What I'm asking is, why are crocodiles rushing out of Gotham's sewers?"
"Why can't crocodiles rush out of Gotham's sewers? I declared sovereignty over Gotham's sewers five years ago. They're my legal residence. Wayne Enterprises hasn't said a word, so who the hell are you?"
Clark swallowed his breath back down.
"No, I mean... theoretically speaking, a shark's natural habitat shouldn't be a sewer, right?"
"We're crocodiles, you idiot!"
Clark felt like his brain had turned to mush.
"Sorry, I misspoke. Crocodiles. But whether sharks or crocodiles, their natural habitat shouldn't be the sewers of any city, should it?"
"That's because other crocodiles don't have legs as long as mine. They can't choose their natural habitat, but I can."
Killer Croc sighed. "Originally, I was the only crocodile in the entire city's sewers. But those little bastards who couldn't beat me decided to use some fucking natural management method and dumped thousands of male crocodiles down there to fight me for territory!"
