Peter shook Clark's hand.
"I'm very sorry. I wanted to talk with you more, sir," Peter said. "But there's something extremely urgent we need to deal with—the madness among Gotham City's citizens."
Clark had clearly noticed that so many incidents of madness throughout the city could not possibly be Gothamites suddenly getting wild ideas. There had to be some external influence, so he asked curiously, "Do you know why they're going mad?"
"That lady told me not to say too much because she was afraid... Well, it doesn't hurt to tell you. Earlier, the people of this city were sedated with a toxin. Of course, that was only a temporary measure, but it caused a small side effect."
"Causing mental instability?"
"I wouldn't call it instability, sir. They're just a little more excitable than usual."
Clark put his hands on his hips and sighed. "While you're much more polite than Batman, I still have to say this is dangerous."
"Although I believe Batman can clean all this up in a very short time, the most dangerous part is how you're going to face his anger."
Peter froze for a moment, then quickly backed up two steps. "Sorry, Mr. Kent, I need to send these criminals where they belong. Batman is still waiting for my report."
Clark could tell Peter was young, so he waved a hand. "As long as you have a plan. But I need to do something too. I'll deal with the places that are too chaotic first. Call me when you've found a solution."
Peter nodded vigorously, and Clark quickly flew away. As he had said, he was going to clean up some messes, mainly those that could cause major safety hazards.
Peter quickly transported the Court of Owls members to the Batcave prison, then called Batman
