His vision was pitch-black, hazy fragments of memory flashing endlessly before his eyes. He struggled to wake up and control his limbs, only to find his entire body stiff and numb.
When he opened his eyes, Bruce saw two faces. One of them was very familiar to him: Peter Parker.
The other face was older and more refined than Peter's. He wore a suit and tie, along with silver-rimmed glasses. The only problem was that his gaze lacked focus, making him seem a little like a blind man.
Bruce wanted to move, but he simply could not. His entire body ached terribly, and the strange numbness kept him from even opening his mouth. He could only lie there stiffly and listen to the two of them talk.
"Did I hear that right?" Peter said. "He tried to grab Electro with his bare hands, then got shocked?"
The other man nodded.
"I have a question." Peter's voice could already be described as helpless. "First of all, how did he manage to catch up to Electro?"
What Peter meant was obvious. How had Electro let himself be caught by someone who would try to grab Electro with his bare hands?
So all these years, had he been fighting fake Electros? Or had Electro lifted his feet off the ground, shut down the virus, and lost even more IQ?
"Iron Man cut power to that street," the man with glasses answered. "And he seemed to have manipulated some electrical storage devices to unleash a current surge, forcing Electro out of the circuit."
Peter could imagine what happened next. After Electro was forced out of the circuit, he needed time to readjust his physical state before turning into electricity again. In other words, the skill had a cooldown.
