Clark put down his phone, faced Diana's slightly puzzled gaze, and shook his head. "Nothing. Doctor Schiller was worried I was getting too excited. He told me not to try to fly while carrying Oliver. He'd just spent so long on a boat; he needs rest."

Diana sighed and walked out of the restaurant with Clark. "Doctor Schiller seems rather thoughtful, but did he really need to call specifically to remind you about something like that?"

Clark scratched his head, a little embarrassed. "You're right. Oliver actually came back—I really am a little excited. When you said we should pick him up at the dock, I did think about just flying him over here."

Clark understood what Diana meant as well. He shook his head. "Before this, whenever someone said, 'You're so powerful—what if you lose control and cause terrible consequences?' "But in Mexico, I saw the bloody consequences firsthand. Humans far weaker than me, once their power became unbalanced, could create such horrific tragedies.
