To achieve that, humanity would inevitably need to join interstellar society. Besides exploiting extraterrestrial resources, it could provide jobs for more people who needed them and opportunities for ambitious individuals to fulfill their own needs.

By then, people with higher-end needs could go outward, while those who did not want to leave could remain on Earth without facing such fierce competition. With the immense abundance of resources brought by interstellar development, it still might not be possible to completely eliminate the gap between rich and poor, but whether poor or rich, everyone would be moving forward overall. Life would definitely be better than before.
