After the dense fog around the top of Wayne Tower dispersed once more, Jason, standing beside the machine, rubbed his eyes in confusion. When he looked again at Robin King sitting in the chair, he jumped in fright.

But at that moment, a figure flew in through the broken window. It was Little Bruce. He waved to Jason, and Jason walked over.

"What's going on? I remember using the freeze gun to freeze Robin King, forcing his plan out of him, and then bringing him back to Wayne Tower..."

A faint sound suddenly came from behind him. Jason turned around and saw Schiller removing the Helmet from Robin King's head.

"Wait, Professor." Jason seemed to be catching on. He said, "You can't take that thing off, or he might wake up."

Schiller shook his head. "No, he won't wake up. His mind is somewhere very far away now."

Jason was still puzzled. "What exactly is going on?"

"Just a few little tricks of misdirection." Schiller said calmly. "What was real was false, what was false was real. That's all."

Jason looked at Little Bruce. Little Bruce sighed. "All right, I'll explain."

In truth, it was nowhere near that simple. Little Bruce had watched Schiller's entire operation and seen with his own eyes how Robin King had played himself right into the trap.

First, Schiller had accurately targeted Robin King's personality and created an illusion that made him obsess over a dead end. That did not surprise Little Bruce much. If it had been him, he would have handled Robin King the same way. The psychological weaknesses of people like that were practically written on their faces. They craved attention, and without it, they would feel miserable enough to die.
