"Human tissue rotted quickly," Schiller said. "There was no difference between it and fish or shrimp that had gone bad at the market. The weather wasn't cold enough now, and tissue piled together would start to smell in less than a day. Today wasn't the day the garbage trucks collected trash. If we waited until tomorrow, that rotten smell might not only attract the garbage truck driver's attention, but also linger in the house."
"We should hurry," Raven said, immediately frowning. "The house is going to be used for a party. We can't leave any smell behind."
They rushed to the nearby Fresh Food Market as quickly as possible. The market was enormous, containing daily necessities, fresh food, furniture, appliances, and all sorts of other goods. Cars flowed in and out front, and the vast parking lot was nearly full.
"A lot of people have been moving lately," Schiller said. After getting out of the car, he did not immediately deal with the box. Instead, he calmly adjusted his clothes and strode toward the main entrance.
Raven was dazzled by the glaring sunlight. She still glanced uneasily at the trunk, but then hurried after Schiller.
"Are there so many people at the market because everyone is holding parties?" Raven muttered softly. "Then will there still be enough fresh food getting thrown out?"
"The more they stock, the more they have left over." Schiller looked up at the entrance and nodded to the security guard who opened the door for them. Raven followed behind him like a quail, slipping through the narrowing gap before the door closed.
"But where do they throw out their garbage?" Raven began looking around impatiently.
