"You stay here and revise the blueprints, filling in any gaps. I'm going back for a while," Schiller said. "So certain people don't pass out from altitude sickness again."
"Barry, come back with me. Helen and Aisha will stay... Martin, you should come back with me too. But you don't need to go to the center with me. I'll make you a shopping list later. Go buy some daily necessities for living here long-term."
Once everything had been arranged, Schiller left with Barry. They passed through the portal back to the sanatorium, and Schiller first drove Martin to the supermarket.
New York might not be Gotham, but they were both major East Coast cities. It wasn't exactly unfamiliar territory, so buying a few things was no trouble.
Rather than immediately returning to the Solar System Development Plan's central base to find Nick, Schiller went to see Peter first.
Peter had been back for quite some time. He liked scientific research too, but he wasn't a research maniac like Stark. He knew how to enjoy life. After returning, he and Gwen had traveled all over the world, and he was currently taking a vacation at home.
Whenever Schiller visited Peter's home, he received a warm welcome from Aunt May. It wasn't that she truly understood the relationship between Schiller and Peter; she simply liked intellectuals and thought Peter ought to make more friends like them.
Smiling, Schiller nodded at Aunt May as she brought over the snacks. He picked up a piece of apple pie and ate it as he said, "So you haven't seen Baker lately either? Where is he, then?"
Peter shook his head. "The last few times I went to their ground base, I didn't see him. I thought he'd applied for overtime."
"Does he work overtime often?"
