"Have you talked to Nick about this?" Schiller asked.

"He definitely won't agree, and he'll chew me out." Peter looked at Schiller hopefully. "So could you ask him for me, Doctor?"

I knew this kid was up to no good, Schiller thought. So this was what he'd been waiting for.

"I'll discuss it with Nick, but don't get your hopes up. He hates this kind of sacrificial mindset, as if anything you can't use yourself ought to be donated away. That can easily develop into an unhealthy mentality."

"I know, but I won't." Peter launched into his usual spiel. "I heard about a Spider-Man who accidentally gave his powers to someone else, and that person is doing pretty well now. Then he could go do other things..."

"He didn't have anything else to do, either." Schiller cut Peter off. He knew Peter meant the Spider-Man who had given his powers to Bruce from Earth-1. That Spider-Man was currently serving as a holy son under him, and since the Nameless Mist had not been active for a long time, Spider-Man was bored out of his mind.

That was also why this Spider-Man knew he would get chewed out the moment he saw Nick, so he refused to come to this universe no matter what. For now, he was still on the fused Earth, doing research and such.

"Rather than whether you should do it, how to do it is more worth studying." Schiller reminded him, "If you can find a way to transfer the ability without harming yourself at all, physically or psychologically, then I might have some confidence in persuading Nick. But if you're talking about faking your death or anything like that, I can only tell you this: absolutely not. Nick will never agree."
