When Martin had previously attempted a ritual, he received a response from the Feathered Serpent God and could communicate with Him through vague sensations. But perhaps because something had gone wrong with the Aztec Pantheon, that communication was always intermittent.
Schiller and the others bought tickets and lined up to tour the Great Pyramid, but things were more complicated than they had expected. There were simply too many tourists inside the pyramid, making it impossible to act at that moment.
So they agreed to return that night. They spent the day touring the pyramid and figuring out the general route before leaving the magnificent structure.
There was still some time before the Great Pyramid closed at nightfall, so Schiller decided to deal with the Mutant issue first. He wanted to arrange a meeting with Magneto, but he asked Martin which restaurant was farthest from the city, preferably one located in the middle of the desert.
The question stumped Martin. Most restaurants acceptable to tourists were concentrated in one area, the most prosperous part of the region. There were restaurants in more remote places, but most were local eateries run by locals. Their decor was rather unimpressive, and their food was far too local in flavor.
But at Schiller's insistence, Martin asked around until he finally found a fairly decent restaurant on the outskirts of Mexico City.
The restaurant stood along the only road leading to the Great Pyramid and served tourists, so it was reasonably good. At the same time, it was isolated, with wide-open land surrounding it.
Martin still did not understand why Schiller wanted such a place, but they entered the restaurant on their way back, and Schiller sent the address to Magneto.
