But then again, a mathematical formula was a formula within mathematics, yet if you used that formula to create something, that thing had physical form. You could not say it was no longer a mathematical formula.

Nyarlathotep's situation was roughly the same. If he did not enter the American comics universe, he would remain forever indescribable. But the DC Universe did not operate by those rules. All the gods here had a certain physical form, which was why there were such iconic scenes of gods swinging planets at one another.

So if Nyarlathotep wanted to exist here, he had to make himself a physical body. Lu Xun had once said that as long as you had a throat, one day you would get a fishbone stuck in it.
