In stark contrast to Batman, the Jokers' base was on a high mountain. Halfway up one of the peaks was an exposed rocky platform, with a cave behind it and countless towering trees beyond the cave.

This gave them a much better start than the others. At the very least, they had a platform where they could stand and talk, as well as a natural roof to shield them from the wind and rain. Building a house was therefore not their most pressing task, and they had plenty of time to waste.

Jack circled the Joker who shared his name and said, "Perhaps no one would ever have imagined that another madman would save this city. Compared with Batman, you don't seem extreme enough, or smart enough."

"But I am focused enough." Nappier gently raised a finger. He wore two rings, something the other Jokers had also noticed. Yet one was an ordinary gold band, while the other was a family signet ring bearing his surname. Neither had the bat symbol they wanted to see.

"How insane." Main Universe Joker said gloomily, "Look, there's a freak here who actually wears decorations unrelated to bats. I bet you don't even have a bat tattoo, you disgusting lowlife..."

Nappier was not angered by the insult in the slightest. He merely turned his hand gracefully and looked at his fingertips. "You will find no trace of Batman's influence on me. It was expelled from my body long ago along with the blood I shed for him, flowing into the filthy gutters. That is where Batman belongs."

"How dare you!" Main Universe Joker nearly lunged at him in a rage, grabbing Nappier by the collar with his fist already raised. But then he suddenly burst into a nervous laugh.

"You don't belong here, madman."
