People who often build plastic bricks would probably have noticed the following rules:
First, after reading the instructions, you felt like you understood everything, but one second after closing them, you forgot it all completely.
Second, you could not find the pieces while looking at the instructions, and once you had gathered the pieces from all over creation, you could not find the instructions anymore.
Third, no matter how you looked at it, this piece seemed perfect right here. The composition looked beautiful, it felt right in your hand, but according to the instructions, it simply did not belong there.
Fourth, no matter how you looked at it, this piece absolutely should not have been here. It looked jarringly out of place and was hard to press in, but according to the instructions, it was supposed to go there.
Fifth, before sealing up any enclosed structure, you would never know what you had forgotten to put in. The second you sealed off the most complicated structure, you remembered everything.
Sixth, and most tragically, after taking apart that complicated structure and putting back the missing piece, you discovered that no matter what you did, it would not seal up again.
Main Universe Batman, Schiller, and Tim were now gathered around the table, studying the instructions. The instructions had actually been drawn by Main Universe Batman, but to make them easier for the others to use, he had not made them into overly complicated diagrams and had instead turned them into step-by-step illustrations.
Theoretically, then, there could not possibly be anything wrong with the instructions. After all, anything produced by Batman was bound to be top quality. As long as they followed the instructions step by step, building an Owl ancient city should have been no problem.
If there was nothing wrong
