After everyone had eaten and drunk their fill, they continued in the order they had set earlier. When it came to Jena, things became even more disastrous.

Jena and Zan, this brother-sister pair, were actually aliens. The planet where they had been born had suffered a massive plague that killed all their parents and relatives. By chance, they had arrived on Earth in a spaceship. Since they did not understand Earth languages or customs, they caused quite a few incidents before eventually being recruited by the Justice League.

That meant one thing: to Earthlings, the two of them were practically semi-illiterate.

Zan was a little better off. He had liked tinkering with machinery on his home planet, and after joining the Justice League, he could help the members repair their equipment. But Jena had studied geography, and after coming to Earth, she had basically found no use for it at all.

With the Justice League members' help, they learned English, but they learned it in a muddled, upside-down fashion. They had reached the stage where they could communicate fluently, but getting them to fully understand the underlying logic of how humans on Earth spoke was still rather difficult.

When Jena began recounting her life over the past few months, everyone who listened was even more bewildered.

At first, while her mind was still working, her English sounded fairly decent. But after eating, her blood sugar rose, and the spoken diary was dull to begin with. She grew sleepier and sleepier, and started mixing English words with alien grammar. In the end, she simply switched entirely to alien language.

The language of their planet sounded somewhat like a blend of Russian and French. It was verbose, and its intonation was flat and completely without fluctuation, as though she were chanting scripture.
