After the Robins returned from their trip, Schiller felt it was necessary to treat them to a meal. But clearly, the old butler missed his children even more and had probably already prepared a whole table of dishes. So Schiller decided to take the young members of the New Warriors to Wayne Manor for dinner.
Though it was called a banquet, it was really just a casual family gathering, so there was no need to dress too formally. Robert never wore a uniform and merely changed into a clean tracksuit. Helen dressed up a little; instead of a T-shirt and shorts, she wore a cute blue sundress with straps and tied a bow atop her ponytail.
Robert said disdainfully, "You're pretending to be cute again."
"None of your business." Helen rolled her eyes. "No matter where you are, an old butler capable of independently running such a huge estate must be an impressive person. If we win him over, trouble will say goodbye to us."
Squirrel Girl was using a comb to groom her big bushy tail, worried that she might shed while visiting someone's home. Night Thrasher was polishing his leather shoes. He was dressed rather formally, wearing slacks and a shirt. The fungus person was much like Robert, dressed in loose, clean sportswear.
Schiller went upstairs and changed clothes—which was practically the same as not changing at all. He was still wearing that black suit.
Without Gray Mist, Schiller could no longer adjust the temperature however he pleased. The weather was scorching, and he truly did not want to wear a suit. But Gotham University had a dress code for faculty: no matter how hot it was, they had to wear a dark suit, tie, and leather shoes. So Schiller had no choice.
It was not evening yet.
