Bruce was back.

He had just finished up. He had run two instances in Battleworld with Owlman and met one of Owlman's teammates, earning quite a few points and obtaining some items that might come in handy later.

The first thing he did after returning to his own universe was head to Washington to clean up the mess that had been left unfinished some time ago.

Before leaving, he had helped Amanda establish the Federal Shield, helped Wayne Enterprises restructure its industries to deal with the sudden Economic Crisis, added fuel to the fire in Mexico, and secretly aided the flourishing Black movement.

Against the backdrop of global economic decline, Mexico had not quieted down. Instead, it had grown increasingly heated—but that was hardly a good sign. Mexico's national independence revolution was on the verge of turning into a proxy war for major powers to shift their internal conflicts elsewhere.

After Oliver left, the Revolutionary Army lost its backbone. It had no firm ideology and no capable enough leader, and the revolutionary forces instantly fell apart.

It was not as though they were all moles planted by the CIA. Revolution itself was simply highly prone to clashes of thought and opinion. Some wanted to do things this way, others wanted to do them that way. Some might have been right but run into trouble, while others did the wrong thing yet enjoyed smooth sailing. Chaos was inevitable.

When Oliver had been there, he was the initiator of the revolution. His prestige was strong enough, and he had always been unwaveringly determined, refusing to compromise with outside forces. He had many supporters and could keep those conflicts suppressed.
