After the bonfire gathering ended, everyone cleaned up the mess. They had learned their lesson this time: the main group returned to Stone House first, leaving only a few people behind to work, and they actually finished faster than before.

By the time they returned, it was already very late. Most people went back to their rooms to sleep. Since quite a few had been drinking, Schiller got up early the next morning to find that not a single person was awake. They were all still asleep.

But his body clock was very steady, so he planned to make something to eat first. As he checked the ingredients in the refrigerator, he suddenly heard footsteps on the stairs.

When he turned around, he saw someone unexpected. It was Reed.

Schiller and Reed were not particularly familiar with each other. They might have crossed paths professionally, but they had no private contact at all.

But the moment Reed appeared, Schiller knew he had come for him. It was not because he could read minds. Reed's eyes were practically too sleepy to open; he had clearly forced himself awake. Not one of these scientists had a normal sleep schedule.

Since he was not used to getting up early at all, there was no need to ask why he had risen so early and come downstairs.

Schiller had originally intended to make a sandwich, but seeing this, he decided that fried eggs would do. Out of politeness, he fried four eggs, made two cups of coconut milk, and carried them over to the nearby island counter.

The smell of fried eggs woke Reed up a little. He smiled at Schiller somewhat sheepishly. The two sat on opposite sides of the island, eating breakfast and chatting.
