Schiller looked through all the cards and found the game's design quite clever. It bore the name Sanguosha, but it was actually more like Hearthstone, with dice rolls for checks, while summoning characters felt a bit like Pokémon battles.

Everyone had a main control card—the lord in Sanguosha, the hero in Hearthstone. At the start, they rolled dice and summoned characters matching the number rolled onto the field.

The characters were basically divided into several factions, namely the various superhero factions: the Avengers, Young Avengers, Sanctum Sanctorum, Kamar-Taj, S.H.I.E.L.D., New Warriors, Spider-Army, Asgard, and so on.

Disney had created this to promote American superheroes, so it basically only featured American superheroes. Schiller had heard there was apparently a Chinese hero version, but it was a mobile game, and they couldn't play it outside the firewall.

There were also event cards, which could be summoned by rolling dice. They included things like Bat Invasion of New York, Dark Elf Descent, and the Asgard God King's Grand Wedding.

Schiller was very curious about what his own card did.

The others were curious about theirs as well. Peter found his cards first, and he had two of them: "Genius Researcher Peter Parker" and "Third Generation Spider-Man: Friendly Neighborhood."

The researcher card was clearly for a technology deck. It followed the same path as Iron Man, granting positive effects to all mechs on the field and allowing him to summon a Speeder to bring characters from the draw pile onto the field.

The Friendly Neighborhood deck, on the other hand, was for the spider archetype. It could use web-shooters to fire webs for crowd control, then use Spider-Sense to forcibly switch positions after an opponent acted, avoiding attacks.

Gwen did not find a card of herself, but she did find Spider-Gwen. Besides working with
