The group walked downstream along the riverbank.
"How did it feel to work at the church, sir?" Main Universe Batman asked Schiller as they walked side by side, seemingly casually.
"Nothing special," Schiller replied. "Most of the work was repetitive and boring. Very little of it could be called interesting, but helping the believers solve their problems was quite fulfilling."
"I suppose so," Main Universe Batman said. "People always expected God to solve all their problems instead of gathering more firewood before winter came. But if everyone were good at preparing for a rainy day, would God be happy or sad?"
"That question already had an answer." Schiller raised one hand and gave it a gentle wave. "When people failed, they prayed for God's mercy. God encouraged them and helped them regain their confidence. When people succeeded, they thanked God for his gifts, and God was pleased."
"Was God always so forgiving?"
"I think so." Schiller smiled and nodded. "The Lord would listen to and accept everything about you. I had always believed that."
"And you, Mr. Hunter?" Schiller looked at Main Universe Batman and asked. "Life in the wilderness must have been interesting. Had you ever encountered any danger?"
"Of course. Plenty of times. Last year, I went hiking on the Mongolian grasslands, but the temperature on the steppe and Gobi suddenly dropped that year. Before I had time to prepare a shelter, it had already fallen to levels unfit for human survival..."
Main Universe Batman spoke about some of his wilderness survival experiences. Some were thrilling and dangerous, while others were quite amusing. He acted exactly like an expert who had spent years surviving in the wild.
