Greed felt that he and Batman were fundamentally incompatible.

It had been said before: Pride was the detective type, while Greed was the mastermind type. It was only natural that they could not get along and constantly tripped each other up.

But Main Universe Batman was the most classic kind of Batman. He was also the detective type, and he had far more drive than Pride.

Most of the time, Pride had a certain inertia. Put simply, he only moved when pushed. When nothing happened, he idled around; when something did happen, he took a gamble.

But Batman was not like that. He was a highly driven detective of the plan-ahead-for-everything school, and his greatest method of preparation was the Exhaustion Method.

Blocking off every possible path for someone or something, deliberately leaving a single dog hole for them to crawl through, then waiting on the other side after they had gone through tremendous effort to squeeze through it—this was Batman's most commonly used detective method.

Greed, meanwhile, was precisely the kind of mastermind who loved digging holes everywhere. He never walked one road all the way to the end. Instead, he preferred to carve all sorts of branches off a main line. Every action had to produce unexpected twists, and he often did plenty of meaningless things to muddy the waters, all so no one could see his true goal.

If Greed was best at winding an enormous ball of yarn and tangling everyone inside it, then Batman was best at building an enormous loom and weaving every strand into his own preparations.

It could be said that the logic behind their actions was perfectly opposed. Exhaustion Method against Exhaustion Method, negative infinity against positive infinity. It would have been strange if Greed had any favorable impression of Batman.
