"Of course. It's obvious that if some people are unimaginably poor, then others are obscenely rich. You could spend an entire day in the Slums staring holes through them, but would that solve anything?"

"Sir, let's stop beating around the bush." Gordon directly cut Schiller off. "Tell us what you think. If it makes sense, I'll cooperate as much as I can."

"It seems you've recognized reality, Director."

Gordon sighed and stared at the surface of the water in his cup, lost in thought. After a long while, he said, "Yes. Maybe I realized it years ago, maybe decades ago. Principles are always reasonable, but if they can't be put into practice, they're useless."

"Under the social system they built, their malice can spread without restraint, while yours will be judged by the law. It's completely unfair. If you have no way to overthrow that system, why knowingly step into a trap?"
