When he came out of the Lounge, Schiller was writing something at his desk. He looked up at Bruce and said, "Aren't you going to deal with what's happening in District X15?"
"Do I have to go?" Bruce felt like he was asking to be scolded. Schiller was so busy he wished he could split himself in two, and Pale Rider was probably no less occupied, yet Bruce was standing around here watching the show.
But to his surprise, Schiller shook his head. "If you don't want to go, then forget it."
"You have another solution?"
"Something like that." Schiller raised his voice toward the door. "Ms. Weiss, please come in for a moment. I have two new appointments. Please arrange for someone to receive them..."
Ms. Weiss came in, took the appointment list, and left again. Bruce asked curiously, "Who are they?"
"Two reporters." Schiller took two files from a nearby cabinet and set them before Bruce. "One is from Gotham TV station, and one is from the Gotham Daily."
"What are they visiting you for?"
"They aren't here to visit me. They're here to visit the mayor, but since the mayor is indisposed, I'll convey his position on his behalf."
"...And what position are you conveying?"
"An apology, mainly for what happened in District X15." Without waiting for Bruce to ask, Schiller explained, "Television and newspapers are the channels through which ordinary people most easily encounter public opinion. Even the poor can readily access them. We need to make our stance clear through them."
