In Arkham Asylum's office, Schiller studied the asylum's blueprints. When the asylum had first been built, it could have been called exceptionally advanced, with beautiful surroundings and luxurious decor—simply the perfect place to rest and recuperate.

But more than a decade had passed. Though the decor was not exactly outdated, it was no longer all that competitive. Several asylums around Long Island had each developed distinctive styles, attracting quite a few newly wealthy clients. Arkham Asylum, meanwhile, had been surviving on its old clientele.

After Schiller noticed that everyone else's homes had been renovated recently, he began eyeing the asylum as well. The style and details he had once found quite good now looked more awkward the longer he stared at them.

So lately, Schiller had been looking through all sorts of renovation examples, preparing to pick his favorite and give Arkham Asylum a complete makeover.

Naturally, renovations meant the place had to close temporarily. Schiller studied the map for a while, then began packing up.

The advantage of Gray Mist was that he did not need to pack a suitcase. He only had to bring the things he used regularly. Most importantly, he needed to take his cooking utensils and ingredients. Ever since eating Sichuan cuisine at Kamar-Taj, Schiller had looked up a huge number of Sichuan recipes and planned to make them himself.

The other ingredients were manageable, but the real problem was that the peppers in the United States were not good enough. Schiller had gone to several Chinese supermarkets and Mexican restaurants before gathering all the peppers he needed. They were treasures to him now.
