Strange appeared at the New York Sanctum dressed as the fully armed Sorcerer Supreme. The resident mages stopped to salute him, then noticed Moon Knight following behind him.
Strange had no mood to explain anything. He merely said, "Give me the maintenance logs for Earth's magic defense network from the past few months. Who were the mages on rotation recently?"
Before long, a female mage approached and led Strange and Schiller into a room deep within the Sanctum.
At the center of the room stood a diamond-shaped cone of light, radiating dense magical power. A beam of light connected to the cone from above, and at the far end of that beam was presumably the magic defense network covering the skies above Earth.
Numerous mysterious symbols appeared above the cone. Strange began reviewing the data while the female mage helped him search for useful information. Suddenly, Strange waved his hand, and one of the runes flew over.
He discussed something with the female mage, but it was too technical for Schiller to understand. Soon, the mage left, presumably to retrieve something, while Strange held the rune and said to Schiller:
"There's nothing wrong with the magic defense network, but it has detected that New York's total energy consumption has risen over the past half year. We haven't found any laboratories applying for additional magical energy usage rights, so the increase is abnormal."
"At present, very few people can directly use magical energy without approval from the New York Sanctum. Tony is one of them. I need to get his data. If adding it all together still doesn't account for the increase, then someone else has been using magic frequently over the past six months."
