"Here it comes." Bruce said with considerable excitement.
"I'll say it again: I have zero interest in the twisted relationships between these people." Hal tossed a potato chip into his mouth and said, "Besides, aliens are about to invade Earth, and we're sitting here watching Batman make a spectacle of himself. Is that really okay?"
"It's great." Harley said. "To hell with the aliens. Batman's drama is way more entertaining."
Hal said that, but he did not close his eyes. Oliver, on the other hand, was clearly uninterested. After drinking a cup of hot chocolate, he slumped sideways on the sofa to catch up on sleep.
"So what exactly happened in their universe?" Clark looked at Lex and asked.
Lex was lost in thought. After perhaps several dozen seconds, he came back to himself and said, "Professor Xavier read Superman's memories. He told me it went something like this..."
Lex roughly explained what had happened in Injustice Superman's universe, leaving everyone sighing with regret.
"Do you think Professor Xavier can work things out with him?" Diana could not help worrying. "Batman is really difficult to deal with. And if you ask me... well, I'm not trying to be wise after the fact, but if I were the Wonder Woman from that universe, I probably would have said the same thing."
"What?" Clark turned to look at her.
"It was Batman's fault." Diana said. "Batman handled this badly. I think he bore at least seventy percent of the responsibility."
Clark was about to speak, but Diana interrupted him. "I mean the aftermath. Joker was obviously the real culprit, but Batman handled the cleanup poorly. That was the main reason things developed this way."
"Do you think Batman should have forgiven Superman back then?" Bruce asked.
"I don't like the word 'forgive.'"
